Ashley - six years old
Katherine and Ashley met when they were just three years old in Preschool. By the time they were four they were the best of friends and stayed that way for many years. Those were sweet years of childhood...of dress up, sleepovers, and imagination. Years ago I made Katherine a 'Dress Quilt' made up of the fabrics from the dresses, costumes, nightgowns, etc. that I made during those preschool and elementary school years. Ashley's mom, Cathy, was also sewing during this time...the girls often wore similar dresses. Matching Felicity costumes and matching Christmas dresses. These years were/are near and dear to my heart. Ashley is now getting ready to get married. Cathy asked me if I would make the same kind of quilt for Ashley that I did for Katherine. In a way maybe to wrap up a happy childhood. So here it is....Ashley's Quilt. Finished September 20, 2012. Machine pieced and handquilted.
