David's Quilt

I started this quilt before I actually took the class with the lap quilt. If I remember correctly I had bags of squares cut out and ready to do something with for quite a while before starting to piece it together. David picked out the colors....they basically resemble scout colors.....although the green, brown, and red aren't quite right. After the class, (and my new found knowledge, haha), I decided to go ahead and do it....later realizing the value of quality fabric. The fabric for this quilt came from Walmart-not that that is bad, but some of it is cheaper than others and there really is a difference. This quilt is a double four patch pattern and is roughly twin bed size. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Completed August 2005.

When I finished the quilt I really didn't like it and I don't think David loved it all that much.....but over time, it has grown on both of us. David is the one who got it out and put it on his bed....and he sleeps under it most every night. That is praise enough for me. One day, though, I will make him another.
