Blue and White....UFO Originally Daniel's Quilt

*Update 3/10/2012.   This quilt never got finished.  It really isn't what Daniel wanted and the thing is monstrous huge.  I started handquilting it and it became quite a chore-I just was not ready for such an undertaking.  So for now it is stored away.  I would like to finish it one day because it is lovely.*

Sometime in the Spring of 2007 it was time to make Daniel a quilt. Bought the fabric, found a pattern, and pieced it. First time I have ever worked with 12x12 blocks. Wow.....sure comes together quickly with blocks that large. It's huge and then I was afraid too feminine for an eleven year old. But he wanted it......and at the rate I am going, he may change his mind as a 13 year old (in June), haha.

The quilt reminds me of old blue and white ironstone. I think it is beautiful. I am in the process of hand quilting it now. If I would actually sit down and work on it, it might just get finished. I will update this when I do.....but for now here are photos of the top:
